The Challenge

Based in Centreville, Virginia, the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) is an international trade association comprised of more than 1,400 members from 46 nations whose members are involved in specialized transportation, machinery moving and erecting, industrial maintenance, millwrighting and crane and rigging operations, manufacturing, and rental.

SC&RA members quite literally lift and move the world. In turn, the Association commits itself to advocating, educating, and providing networking opportunities for its member companies around the globe so they can operate safely, legally, and profitably.

In order to reach its global audience, SC&RA develops and delivers a wide range of information across various platforms and through diverse channels. The need for the Association to maintain a consistent voice, tone, and brand, while also keeping its brand productively aligned with the times, is an ongoing endeavor.

The Solution

In 2012, SC&RA reached out to Thrive in an effort to develop content for placement in industry trade publications. Since then, Thrive’s role has evolved across a range of strategic communication roles and responsibilities—from magazine articles to newsletters to press releases to white papers, and more.

More recently, we’ve enjoyed the opportunity to become members of the Association’s communications advisory and editorial committees—working together to continuously enhance the SC&RA brand, while evolving its operational strategies ever-forward into the modern industrial marketplace.
